Aguilas is known for its wonderful microclimate, unique in winter, and considered the sunniest part of Europe with no less than 3.200 hours of sunshine per year and an annual average temperature of 25.2°C.
Águilas is a typical Mediterranean town dating back to Roman times, with more than 28 km of coastline with fine sand beaches, located about 100 km from Murcia and about 70 km from Cartagena, next to the border with Andalucia.
The city is divided into two fantastic boardwalks, separated by the Roman Castle of San Juan de las Águilas, beautifully illuminated at night. During the day you can enjoy wonderful views of the two bays, the town and the surrounding mountains. The Castle, now converted into a museum, will be a highly recommended visit during your stay.
On the two boardwalks, as well as next to the fishing port, we also find a wide variety of high-quality restaurants of many nationalities, and of course fantastic local markets and restaurants, with the fresh catch of the day ready to be served. In the fishing port and the two yacht clubs, there is a wide variety of activities, such as boat trips, angling, diving and all kinds of water sports.
The City Center is made up of lush streets and squares with curious architecture, which pulsate with life even during the winter months. It is framed by beautiful squares and cobbled alleys, which really give you the feeling of being in a genuine Mediterranean town of great beauty with a very special energy. Here you will find shops, fashion boutiques, restaurants, tapas bars and all kinds of services.
Inside and outside the city you will find a wide variety of services, a modern newly built shopping center with different stores. There are also many hypermarkets in different areas of the city, with all kinds of very cheap products. The price in Águilas is approximately 20% cheaper compared to the Malaga region, in shops, restaurants and services
